How to Enable Microphone in Windows 8

When Would You Want to Enable Microphone?

Although in Microsoft Windows 8 by default microphone is always enabled and is ready to use. This means that as soon as you plug in a microphone pin in the appropriate jack it becomes ready to accept the voice from you.
In some cases, however, you might have disabled the microphone either accidentally or on purpose and once it is done you might find trouble while re-enabling it.
Therefore, if as a Windows 8 user you want to enable microphone you are required to follow the steps given below:
1 Logon to Windows 8 computer with any account that has administrative privileges.
2 From the available options on the screen click on Desktop icon.
Click on Desktop Icon
3 Right click on the speaker icon that is available in the system tray at the bottom right corner of the screen.
4 From the menu that appears click on Recording devices.
Click on Recording devices Option
5 On Sound box make sure that you are on Recording tab and in the available blank space under Select a recording device below to modify its settings section right click anywhere and click on Show Disabled Devices to check.
Click on Show Disabled Devices Option
6 Once done, right click on the appeared disabled Microphone icon and from the available menu click on Enable.
Click on Enable Option
7 Finally click on Ok button to save the changes that you have made.
