If you are using Windows 8 for quite a long time, then you must have observed that it has two version of Internet Explorer: one is the Standard Internet Explorer and another is the Metro version of it. But the Metro version is not much easy to use as the standard version. It doesn’t show the options and settings in the upper toolbar always like the standard version. The only good thing is that it comes in full screen.

How to launch the desktop version of Internet Explorer from the Metro UI

To launch desktop version of IE, follow the steps,

1. Open Internet explorer from the Taskbar. Click on the gear like icon. Click Internet options from the new popped up window.

Click Internet Option

2. In the new window, move to the Programs tab. In this tab, look Choose How you open links . By default it is set to Let Internet Explorer decide . Change it to Always in Internet Explorer on the desktop from the dropdown list.

Change how you open links

From now on, whenever you click IE in Metro UI, IE will open in Standard Window mode.
