HP Unveils Range Of Windows 8 Ready All-In-One Desktops In Pavilion And Other Lines

HP’s latest unveil consists of a number of all-in-one desktops that are touted to be Windows 8 ready. These desktops have a wide variety to choose from. They start off with the budget model HP Pavilion 20 and then go up to the likes of the HP Spectre One that comes with premium design and a large touchscreen for a better computing experience.

The HP Pavilion 20 has a 20inch display and does not have a touchscreen. It has a widescreen display and comes with wired keyboard and mouse. It also has USB 3.0 ports, one SD card reader and an old-style tray loading DVD drive. And its best feature is of course the price — starting off at $449, it will be coming out in October right alongside of Windows 8 from Microsoft.

Then comes the HP Envy 23 and the Envy 20 TouchSmart. Both feature seamless glass widescreen displays that have been optimized for Windows 8 with touchscreen overlays. The Envy 23 has a 23 inch display and the Envy 20 has a 20inch one. Both of them feature the same two-arm swiveling design and have 10point touchscreen capabilities for properly enjoying Windows 8. Then run on Intel processors and can be configured with SSD or ExpressCache SSD for better running speeds. Also available from October, the Envy 23 and the Envy 20 will be priced starting at $999 and $799 respectively.

The HP Spectre One all-in-one desktop features a nice unibody aluminum design a la Apple iMac and has a 23.6inch seamless glass touchscreen display. The PC components are built in to the curving base of the device, allowing HP to make the display only 11.5mm thick. It comes with Intel Processors, NVIDIA graphics, wireless peripherals (keyboard + mouse or trackpad). The touchscreen supports 10 simultaneous inputs and also is one of the first of its kind to feature an NFC (Near Field Communication) chip. Perfect for the upcoming NFC equipped Windows 8 smartphones. This one will be available from November this year and will start off at $1299.
