An elevated Windows PowerShell lets you do many tasks that you cannot elsewise perform with a simple account. An elevated powershell provides you with the admin access to make changes or run scripts as the way you like. If you want to open up an elevated powershell in Windows 8, here is how you do it:
1. Click the Windows Explorer Icon in the taskbar.
2. Now move ahead and select any file or folder you want to open the Elevated Powershell at.
3. Now click on the File tab and click Open Windows PowerShell and then Open Windows PowerShell as administrator. This would open up the Windows PowerShell in an elevated mode in Windows 8
