How to Enable Safe Mode in Windows 8

What is Safe Mode?

Safe mode in any operating system is used to troubleshoot the problems which are not easily removed when the computer is started normally. While using computer in safe mode only essential services are initiated and rest of them are disabled which makes troubleshooting easier for the administrators.

In earlier versions of Microsoft Windows, for example Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows 7 it was quite easy to enter safe mode of the operating systems. People were just supposed to press F8 during computer startup process in order to enter boot menu where several options were available along with an option named Safe Mode. However when it comes to Microsoft Windows 8 this feature has been removed and the boot menu options are now not available any more. Advanced Options, Computer Reset, etc. are some other options which are available in Windows 8 when F8 key is pressed instead.

For advanced users or for the users who are more comfortable with earlier versions of operating systems, Microsoft has still provided a benefit to them by allowing them to manually enable safe mode in Windows 8 when required.
