Fix “Hide Protected Operating System Files” option missing in folder options

If you can’t see the “Hide Protected Operating System Files” option in Folder Options and want to bring that back, refer to the tutorial below.

You must have seen that in the view tab of Folder Option, there is an option “Hide Protected Operating System Files”. The name makes its purpose clear, it hide the system files to protect them. But due to some reasons, this option may be missing in that area. This tutorial will guide you to the way of bringing it back there. Just follow the instructions given below carefully to do so.

1. Open the Run window and type RegEdit and hit Enter. This will open the Registry Editor.

2. Now navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\SuperHidden.

3. Now right click on the empty space and select New -> DWORD (32-bit Value).

4.Name the new DWORD as “CheckedValue” as initialize it with value 0.

Now, go back to the view tab of Folder Option, there you will see that the option “Hide Protected Operating System Files”
is back in action.
