Microsoft introduce its charming Metro User Interface in windows 8. New user interface comes with lots of new features and new applications. The traditional Start Menu is disabled by default here. So we cannot see all the application, folder or drives in the Start Menu. If you want to keep your most used or preferred applications into the Start Menu, then you have to pin them to the Start Menu. If you don’t like any application present there and want to remove that from the Start Menu, then you have to unpin that from the Start Menu.This tutorial will guide you to the way of pinning (unpinning) any applications, folders or drives to(from) the Start Menu.

I. Pin Applications, Folders and Drives to Start Menu

1. Open the application or folder or drive you want to pin to your Metro Start Menu into the windows Explorer.

2. Right click on the corresponding icon and select Pin to Start.

II. Unpin Applications, Folders and Drives from Start Menu

1. Open the Metro Start Menu by pressing the windows button.

2. Right click on the icon(s) of the application or folder or drive in the Metro Start Menu and select
Unpin from Start.
