Why Would You Erase A Hard Disk
In any version of Microsoft Windows you create partitions and volumes so that you can store data in them. There might be times when because of any reason your partition or the entire hard disk might get corrupt and therefore it may require reformatting or repartitioning. When this is the case it becomes essential for you to erase the entire hard disk and recreate partitions in it.
Formatting hard disk and creating a partition is beyond the scope of this tutorial however if as a Windows 8 user you want to erase the hard disk you are required to follow the steps given below:
1 Logon to Windows 8 computer on which you want to erase the hard disk. Make sure that the account you use to logon has administrative privileges.
2 From the available options on the screen click on Desktop.
3 On the desktop screen right click on Computer icon and from the context menu click on Manage.
4 On Computer Management snap-in click on Disk Management from the left pane and from the right pane right click on the disk that you want to erase.
5 From the context menu click on Delete Volume.
6 On Delete simple volume warning box click on Yes button to continue deletion process.
