An ISO is also known as a disc image, which is a single file and is a copy of an entire DVD or CD. Whenever you burn an ISO file to a disc then the burned disc will have the same files, folders and even a properties as the original disc. Steps to burn an ISO file
1. Insert the blank DVD / CD to your drive. Make sure your drive can write to the DVD/CD. If your iso file is above 700MB then you will need a DVD as CD capacity is upto 700MB. Locate the iso file you want to burn. Right click on it and select ‘Burn disc image’.
2. Select the driver where your blank DVD / CD is inserted in Disc burner section. Check / tick ‘Verify disc after burning’ and then click on the Burn button. And finally your iso file is burned to your blank DVD / CD. That are the complete steps to burn an iso file in Windows 8.
Usually the application or installation files are bundeled in an ISO file which you can download and later burn it to the disk. For eg: Windows 8 is available in ISO file from the Microsoft which you can download and to use it you will have to burn it to the disk.
