Customize your desktop and add new desktop icons to Windows 8

If you want to customize Windows 8 a little, you certainly should add new desktop icons!

How many times have you found that certainly you are not able to see “Computer” or “Recycle Bin” Desktop Icons on your desktop? Whatever the reason is, sometimes you might not see icons like Computer, Recycle bin on your desktop. In that case, you may want to add those desktop icons. You also may like to add completely new desktop Icons for ‘Network’, “Control Panel” or “User’s Files.

Just follow this simple tutorial to add or remove Desktop Icons.

1. Open the Desktop by clicking Desktop tile on the Start Screen on your Windows 8.

2. Now, Right click on your desktop and select Personalize.


3. Click on Change desktop icons at the top-right corner.


4. Next, check the icons you want to show on your desktop. Then just simply Click on the Apply and then OK.

Press OK

You are done. Here in the snapshot you can see that “Recycle Bin” icon has been added successfully.

Now, whenever you want to add or remove Desktop Icons follow the same steps. You may add Shortcuts of “My Computer”, “Network” or “User’s Files” but Desktop Icons Look far better than their shortcuts. There will be no arrow sign like shortcuts.
