A New Line Of Windows 8 Ready AMD Motherboards From Asus

Asus has been busy with supporting Windows 8 in every way they can and its latest sign is a new line of AMD-based motherboards that are ready to take on the new beast that is Windows 8. It has refreshed models from the ROG, TUF series and also FM1 socket and APU-based models.

Asus has a launched M5A99/97 R2.0 and TUF motherboards with brand new Windows 8 features. These are AM3+/990FX motherboards that have the fast boot capability to help bring down boot times to 2 seconds. With Windows 8’s boot features, the new boards offer better customizability for booting options and also provides an easy, on click access to the BIOS for changing important settings. There are also various Startup profiles to choose from and the Asus Boot utility stores the selection permanently so that the user doesn’t have to choose one every time.

There’s also a DirectKey that takes the user to the BIOS even when the computer is on stand by. This is great for users who need to access the BIOS at any given point, most useful to engineers, testers and power users. This key removes the need to repeatedly hit the Del key to enter set up during boot.

Asus has also added some features of its own — a new Dual Intelligent Processor 3 with SMART DIGI+ Key offers an intelligent power delivery system that offers directly fine tuning of the power delivered to the CPU and DRAM. This also results in an overall improvement of the overclocking capabilities and the stability of the systems. Also onboard are various entertainment and Gaming oriented features found in the TUF series as well as the ROG series gaming mainboards.
