Animated Desktop Wallpaper: How to install DreamScene on Windows 8
If you want to install DreamScene on Windows 8 to get some animated desktop wallpapers, read this important information. We’ll provide some workarounds soon.
What is Dream Scene?
Microsoft introduced a function called DreamScene in Windows Vista. It allows setting video wallpaper in .wmv or .mpeg format as a desktop background.
In Windows 7 you can have changing wallpapers. The application DreamScene does the same thing, where this option is not available.
After downloading the program, it is necessary to run the file with administrative privileges. Then a new option “Set as Desktop Background” will appear in the Video File Context Menu. You can see how it works.
It works fine in Windows 7. But however it fails in Windows 8, at least in developers preview version. If download it and install with administrative privilege, then an icon will be created on the desktop screen.
Next when you click on it, then it will ask you to install Dreamscene.
But when you will try to install it, it will show you error message telling you You must have Windows 7 to use DreamScene 7
All the patches available in the internet, are not working in Windows 8. Though sad but true, you have to wait for DreamScene Eight to be released.
