Add “Run” to the Metro Start Screen of Windows 8

The Start screen of Windows 8 can be easily customized. Here’s how to add “Run”


In Windows XP, there was an option in the Start Menu, the run application. You can just click on that and the Run window will appear. Then you can run any application from there. But in windows 8, this shortcut seems to be missing. Even, this option could be added in Windows 7, if some customization is done. This tutorial will guide you to the way of adding it to the Start Menu.
Just follow the instructions given below.

1. Open the Start Menu by pressing the Windows button.
Now type run then, in the search result, you will get the Run application there.

2. Right click on it. In the bar appeared below, you can see an option Pin to Start Menu. Now, simply click on it to add the Run application in the Start Menu.

You are done. Go to the Start Menu again and there you will see the Run option there in the rightmost place.
You can drag this into the position where you want it.
